Sara Aune

Marc and Sara Aune have spent their lives in the aesthetic community.

Marc's childhood took him to several Midwestern cities, ending in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He attended the University of South Dakota, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in both drawing and sculpture. Upon graduation, Marc came to Florida, serving as fine art director for the Schoolhouse Gallery on Sanibel Island.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sara grew up enjoying the cultural input of the University of Michigan community. She attended Eastern Michigan University for a year before moving to Sanibel Island, Florida. Sara completed her Associate Arts degree in fine arts at Edison Community College, Ft. Myers, Florida.

Meeting on Sanibel Island, Marc and Sara have contributed to the success of two galleries, The Schoolhouse Gallery and the Sanibel Gallery. They took active party in the creation of the Barrier Island Group for the Arts, Sanibel Island, in 1979, and served as chairs and committee members for its annual Big Arts Fair, 1982-1991.

Working from their home-based Silver Lining Studios on Pine Island, Marc and Sara currently participate in approximately 40 fine arts and crafts festivals annually throughout the Eastern United States. Their hand forged sterling and gemstone jewelry is available exclusively at these venues, or by commission.
